Prohibited Items

KEEPINBOXES is not obliged to inspect shipment contents. The sender is fully responsible for ensuring the shipment does not include any prohibited items.
KEEPINBOXES does not accept the receipt, storage or handling of the items below. This list applies the "Prohibited and Unacceptable Items" clause of the user agreement. If you are unsure about an item, ask us before you order.
Valuables and documents
- Cash, cheques, bearer instruments and securities
- Active bank/credit cards, gift cards and phone top-up cards
- Gold in any form (bullion, coins, jewellery), gold watches
- Jewellery, precious stones and metals
- Antiques, works of art, historical items
- Non-reproducible documents or items (personal correspondence, film, video, stamps, tickets, etc.)
- Official documents such as passports, ID cards and driving licences
Dangerous goods
- Explosives, fireworks, ammunition, flares
- Flammable liquids and gases: petrol, lighter gas, gas cylinders, camping gas cartridges, alcohol-based fuels
- Pressurised containers and aerosols (spray paint, insecticide sprays, etc.)
- Oxidising, corrosive, toxic and radioactive substances, acids, bleach
- Industrial and agricultural chemicals, pesticides
- Biological materials, infectious substances, medical waste
- Lithium batteries and power banks shipped on their own (batteries inside a device or packed with a device are accepted)
Weapons and security
- Firearms, their parts and accessories (including magazines, silencers, sights)
- Replica and toy weapons, air and gas pistols
- Bladed and pointed weapons (switchblades, swords, knuckle-dusters, etc.)
- Pepper spray, stun devices
Illegal and restricted items
- Narcotics and stimulants, prohibited psychoactive products
- Counterfeit, imitation or trademark-infringing goods
- Stolen goods
- Products made from endangered animals or plants (ivory, coral, etc.; CITES)
- Pornographic material
- Any items whose carriage is prohibited by international conventions (IATA, ICAO) or by EU or Greek law
Food, live and perishable goods
- Food of any kind, including spices, coffee, tea and food supplements
- Live animals, plants, seeds and soil
- Perishable goods or goods requiring a cold chain
- For alcoholic drinks and tobacco products, the conditions below apply
Items unsuitable for storage
- Liquids at risk of leaking or not properly sealed
- Items giving off a strong odour
- Fragile items without adequate packaging
- Shipments exceeding box dimensions that also do not fit a virtual box (max. 180 cm on one side, max. 1 m³ in total, max. 30 kg)
Alcohol, tobacco and nicotine products (accepted under conditions)
These products are received and stored under the conditions below; shipments that do not meet them are not accepted. Compliance with excise, customs and sales rules is the user's responsibility.
Accepted
- Heated tobacco and e-cigarette devices (IQOS, glo, pod systems, etc.): accepted as electronic devices; the battery must be inside the device, separate spare batteries are not accepted.
- Tobacco products (cigarettes, heated tobacco sticks such as HEETS/TEREA, cigars, rolling tobacco): in original, unopened packaging, with taxes paid (from a legal sale in Greece or another EU country), in personal-use quantities — per box, at most 800 cigarettes or heated tobacco sticks in total (40 packs), 200 cigars or 1 kg of tobacco.
- E-cigarette liquid: in original, closed and leak-proof packaging; nicotine liquids at most 10 ml per bottle and at most 20 mg/ml nicotine (EU rules).
- Alcoholic drinks: in original, unopened and sealed bottles, packed to protect against breakage, at most 6 bottles per box, alcohol content below 70%.
Not accepted
- Tobacco, heated tobacco and nicotine products shipped from outside the EU (they are subject to excise and import restrictions at customs)
- Products without tax stamps, untaxed, counterfeit or smuggled
- Opened, used or damaged-packaging products
- Commercial-looking quantities (above the limits above)
- Nicotine base, concentrates and liquids above 20 mg/ml
- Spirits with 70% alcohol or more (classed as flammable)
The risk of breakage, leakage and odour lies with the user. A leaking or smelly item may be removed from the box to protect other users' belongings.
What happens if a prohibited item is found?
KEEPINBOXES is not obliged to inspect shipment contents; the sender and the user declare that the shipment contains no prohibited items. Prohibited items are not received. If one is noticed after receipt, it may be removed from the box, the service may be suspended and, where necessary, the competent authorities informed. Any resulting costs and liability lie with the user.
The rules on this page apply the User Agreement and are binding. If there is any difference between the agreement and this page, the User Agreement prevails.
